Stephen Girard, Founder <br />(1750-1831)

This Philadelphian was the architect for Founders Hall at Girard College. He later designed the dome of the capital of the United States. - G. Girard started these homes in 1831 and they were completed by his estate after his death in December 1831. In 1735, The house was acquired by Anthony Benezet, a French-born Quaker educator and philanthropist who Girards Philadelphia: Market Terminus at Market and Front Street.
