Accomplishments,/endeavors, misc info you wish to share with your classmates: I have been a Professor at Yale and at Duke since 1966. Actually this is three jobs - researcher, teacher and consultant. I am cutting back on teaching now but am still active as a researcher and as a consultant. I have focused my research on the Health Care sector and the Pharmaceutical Industry. I have testified before Congress several times and Congress recently enacted a law to stimulate R&D on neglected diseases such as Malaria, based on an idea advanced by two colleagues and myself. I enjoy research and plan to stay active as long as I am able. The Health Care sector has enough problems to keep scores of researchers busy for many decades to come! My oldest son, David, went into the family business -- he is a health care policy researcher at Harvard. Jon is a Marine Biologist in Portland, Maine and Charles is a computer programmer in Chapel Hill. Believe it or not, my youngest son was a NC State Select Soccer Player and his two boys look like great players too. Must be in the family genes somewhere.
